Booking Terms & Conditions, Waiver Requirement, Reservations, and Cancellation Policy
In this document, the entity known as Revelstoke Backcountry Guides Inc. (o/a Revelstoke Backcountry Guides, Revelstoke Guides, Wildroutes Adventures and Wildroutes), referred to as “we,” “our” and “us,” is the provider of the backcountry experiences and services described in our marketing materials and as detailed in your booking confirmation. The property known as Hemlock Hut is referred to as the “hut” in the conditions below. The term “winter” refers to when we operate snow-related activities, and “summer” refers to when we operate in non-snow-related activities, such as hiking and rafting.
By making a reservation with us, you agree, on behalf of yourself and all other individuals that you book for, to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. You further agree you are acting as agent for such other individuals, and these Terms & Conditions shall apply to them.
Waiver Required
All participants, or their parent/legal guardian for a minor under 19, must review and agree to our Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement (the “Waiver”) as a condition of participating in any trip booked with us. If the Waiver is not completed, the individual will not be permitted to participate.
By signing the Waiver, you will waive or give up certain legal rights, including the right to sue for negligence, breach of contract, or breach of the Occupiers’ Liability Act, or claim compensation following an accident. The form of Waiver can be viewed and downloaded below. PLEASE READ THE WAIVER CAREFULLY PRIOR TO MAKING ANY PAYMENT.
Each adult must complete a waiver.
Participants will be provided with a paper waiver to review and complete at the start of the trip.
This waiver requirement applies to all guests who wish to participate in your reservation, including those who are added or substituted after the original booking.
If you are booking for others, it is your responsibility to ensure you inform them of this waiver requirement and the terms of the Waiver.
Note that we reserve the right to update the waivers each season, and all participants will be required to sign the current season Waiver to participate. The current season waiver will be provided before the final payment is required.

We will contact each guest to complete the required booking form and review the waiver. Failure to complete these forms 30 days before the trip may result in denied participation.

We reserve the right to refuse a referred replacement; in which case, you may find another replacement. No Guarantee. We do our best to adjust the trip to suit the conditions. However, we have no control over the weather, natural forces, road closures, transportation delays, and other factors beyond our control. There is no guarantee of the conditions you will encounter during your trip. We have the right, in our sole discretion, to operate our guiding programs in a manner we deem appropriate. We do not make any guarantees with respect to any booking or with respect to any services provided by a third party. We reserve the right to cancel any trip, day, or activity at any time due to weather conditions or any other circumstances. This can happen at any time, and we will not be responsible for any changes in itinerary or expenses you may incur as a result of any altered trip itinerary or cancellation. We strongly encourage you to purchase travel insurance.
In no event will Revelstoke Backcountry Guides be liable for any incidental, consequential, punitive, indirect, or special damages for any variation to, or cancellation of, the reservation for any reason.
THIRD PARTY BOOKINGS
All reservations made on your behalf by us with third-party service providers, including helicopter transportation, are subject to the service provider’s terms and conditions. Any claim you have against a third-party service provider for lack of or poor service is between you and the service provider.
In the event any transportation booked by us is late, delayed, or cancelled, or you miss your connection for any reason, the associated costs are your responsibility. We are not responsible for the costs of any delays, disruptions, or missed transportation, or for missed days of your trip for any reason. Third-party services, including helicopter flights, are non-refundable as per our Terms & Conditions unless the service provider provides a refund under their policy, in which case the refund, less a 15% administration fee, will be passed along to you. Conduct and Risk & Safety
You acknowledge that you are aware that guided backcountry travel, and travel by water, involves significant risks, dangers, and hazards and you agree to participate knowing these risks, dangers and hazards and you freely accept and fully assume all such risk, dangers and hazards and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage or loss resulting therefrom. You agree that your participation in these activities is purely voluntary, and you elect to participate despite the risks. You further accept responsibility for your safety and well-being.
All guests must follow the guide and hut staff instructions at all times, stay alert to hazards, act prudently throughout the trip, and notify the guide of anything you perceive as unacceptable risk in a timely manner.
We reserve the right to refuse or remove any guest who poses a risk to themselves or others, or fails to follow directions, at their own expense.
Alcohol, cannabis, or other intoxicants must not be consumed before or during guided activities.
Guests must inform us in advance of any medical conditions, allergies, dietary needs, or changes to contact information.
We are located in the remote Selkirk Mountains, known for excellent conditions but subject to variable weather. We expect guests to maintain a positive attitude—even when conditions are less than ideal—as this significantly improves the group experience.
Insurance
Life is unpredictable, and so is travel. We strongly recommend that all guests purchase trip cancellation, interruption, and emergency medical evacuation insurance.
For international guests: ensure your policy includes adequate medical coverage in Canada.
For out-of-province guests: be aware that your provincial health care may not cover all expenses in British Columbia.
We do not sell travel insurance or provide insurance advice. We do recommend Acera Insurance as an option, as they understand remote backcountry travel needs. It is your responsibility to review the insurance coverage you select to ensure the coverage is appropriate for your trip and circumstances.
Accepted payment methods: EFT, or credit card (subject to a 2.9% service fee) All payments are final and non-refundable, except as specified in the Cancellation Policy.

Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Agreement, including any question regarding its existence, validity, or termination, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of British Columbia, and the parties hereby irrevocably attorn to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts.
